Our Team
We’ve created a team of passionate, caring and supportive staff with a mix of different cultural, linguistic, ethnic and social backgrounds, who share the common goal of working together to help families and individuals with quality, dignified funerals.
Andrea
Administration Co-ordinator
Andrea is our Administration Co-ordinator and although she only joined us in July 2017, she is an enthusiastic and committed team member, who wanted to be part of the team for the past ten years, but family commitments made it impossible.
Her key strength is her ability to coordinate, support and assist the team so they can be free to help our clients with minimum stress.
She is passionate about working at Bereavement Assistance because she believes in the vision of growing the company to reach more people in the community.
Andrea says, “I am proud to tell people I work at Bereavement Assistance.
Proud because of the incredible team who do such amazing work.
Proud to be part of an organisation that supports my personal growth and wellbeing.
Proud that we help hundreds of people in such an important, unique way.”
Alex
Funeral Consultant and Arranger
Alex is one of our Funeral Consultants and Arrangers with two years’ experience.
His key strength is his ability to provide families with a respectful service even during times of financial hardship and stress.
He is passionate about working at Bereavement Assistance because he ensures families can provide an appropriate farewell for their loved ones, without the financial stress of a commercial funeral service.
Sofiya
Funeral Consultant and Arranger, Trainee Embalmer
Sofiya is one of our Funeral Consultants and Arrangers with two years’ experience.
Sofiya says, “It’s hard not to love your job when you work with a team of like-minded people, from diverse backgrounds, which are striving to better our organisation so we can assist more grieving families through the hardest times of their life.
I am passionate about working for Bereavement Assistance because it is the only secular not-for-profit funeral home. This means we can assist any family regardless of their financial situation by providing dignified low or no-cost funerals.”
Kate
Funeral Consultant and Arranger
Kate is one of our Funeral Consultant’s and Arranger’s and although she has only been part of our team since the end of 2017, she has a lifetime of professional experience in customer service.
Her key strength is her dedicated, individualised, personal and tailored customer service skills that she applies to assisting client families with organising funerals.
Kate says, “I am absolutely committed to the non-profit service philosophy of Bereavement Assistance. It underpins everything we do.
The shared purpose that the company and its’ employees are here to be of service to those Victorians with few financial means, during their time of need, validates both my personal belief in an equitable society and the theoretical assertion that Government institutions care for all.”
Kathy

Kathy is one of our Funeral Director’s with 21 years’ experience in the industry and has been with us for over eight years.
Her key strength is applying her 21 years of expertise to provide each client family with the funeral service that meets their needs.
