History

Bereavement Assistance is a community service organisation created by Ted Worthington and founded in 1997 with Burnard Morey and Kieran Worthington.

Ted was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day Honours, 2011, for his work in the community, particularly with Bereavement Assistance.

We are privileged to have had as our Patron Mr S.I. (Mick) Miller, A.O., L.V.O., Q.P.M., a former Chief Commissioner of Police in Victoria. In his retirement Mr Miller was keenly involved in community service and was actively involved in the work done by Bereavement Assistance.

Ted is now retired but his vision is carried on by a board of management and a team of dedicated employees.

During 2014-2015 Bereavement Assistance undertook a corporate governance review under professional guidance.

When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.
